What kind of battery is in the Tesla Model S Plaid?
The Tesla Model S Plaid's battery packs are made of of 5 modules of 444 Panasonic NCR18650B cells.
The nominal pack has a 95 kWh energy capacity and 7,920 individual cells.
Thermal management is incorporated into the arrangement of these cells in order to keep the battery cool while it is being used.
According to industry expert Sandy Munro, the Tesla Model S Plaid may travel up to 300 miles (482 kilometres)
on the Next Energy cycle with this single charge. This results in an EV efficiency of 134 Wh/km,
or 95 kW of energy and 134 Wh per kilogramme of distance. A Tesla Model S Plaid can travel farther on a single charge than other
Teslas and other electric cars available today thanks to its high degree of efficiency.
